Students Represent School in Sheikh Zayed Sustainability Prize with Innovative Project

A group of enthusiastic students from MA Mambaul Ulum Corogo have proudly stepped onto the global stage by participating in the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Sustainability Prize. Their project, titled "From Waste to Feed", aims to tackle two major challenges in rural communities: organic waste management and poultry nutrition. Through the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots, the students demonstrated how food waste can be transformed into a sustainable, protein-rich feed for chickens—boosting egg production while significantly reducing environmental pollution.

Guided by their teachers and supported by their school community, the students conducted field research, built prototype maggot farms, and educated local residents about the benefits of circular farming. Their innovative approach reflects core sustainability values—especially those promoted by Sheikh Zayed himself, who emphasized environmental stewardship, youth empowerment, and community-led solutions. The project not only promotes zero-waste farming but also contributes to food security and economic empowerment in the village.

The entire school and local community stand behind them, hoping that their commitment and creativity will earn them a place among the global finalists.
